Questions for Full Council, 18 January

Tonight at the City Council's Full Council meeting, members of the Conservative Group will be asking the following questions to Executive Members:

  • Cllr David Clarkson - “Can the executive member provide an update on the Secretary of State’s review of the requested “call - in” of the Western Growth Corridor application?”
  • Cllr Thomas Dyer - “Can the executive member please provide an update on the recent closure of Yarborough leisure centre?”
  • Cllr Eddie Strengiel - “Can the executive member please update council with when he expects construction for the Western Growth Corridor to commence?”
  • Cllr Bill Mara - “Can the executive member commit to the entire Western Growth Corridor development adhering to the full environmental standards in the emerging local plan?”
  • Cllr Mark Storer - “After the success of the livestream at the recent planning committee, will the leader commit to bringing the City Council into the 21st Century and live-streaming all meetings?”
  • Cllr Christopher Reid - “Can the executive member update Council on the current situation with regards to car parking revenue, following the Christmas period?”
  • Cllr Hilton Spratt - “Can the portfolio holder provide the council with an explanation as to how we monitor the performance of our contractors, such as Biffa?”
  • Cllr Alan Briggs - “Can the member give some detail as to what steps are being taken to proactively tackle fly tipping, outside of Park Ward?”
  • Cllr Matthew Fido - “What would be the cost saving to the taxpayer should the City Council have 1 election every 4 years, like all other councils in Lincolnshire?”

Christopher is one of our City Councillors for Minster Ward, following his election in 2018. He is a regular campaigner in the area and distributes "Intouch" leaflets across the ward, to help keep residents up to date with his work for them on the Council.

David was elected as Association Deputy Chairman on 12 March 2020, at our AGM. David was elected as a Councillor for Hartsholme Ward in the City Council elections in May 2021.

Cllr Thomas Dyer

City of Lincoln Councillor for Witham Ward
Leader of the Conservative Group on the City of Lincoln Council
County Councillor for Waddington and Hykeham East

Elected in May 2016, Thomas is currently the youngest councillor on the City Council, as well as Leader of the Conservative Group. He is working hard to make sure that the residents of Witham are heard and that they are having their voice heard at City Hall.

City of Lincoln Councillor for Witham Ward

 Hilton is the County Councillor for Witham and Swallow Beck Division having won his seat in May 2017, and City Councillor for Witham Ward following his election back onto the City Council in 2018.

Mark Storer

City of Lincoln Councillor for Minster Ward

Mark Storer was elected as a City Councillor for Minster Ward in May 2021. 

Mark has previous experience of working on a Council, following 4 years on Lincolnshire County Council.

Matt Fido

Cllr Matthew Fido

City Councillor for Moorland Ward

Matthew was first elected in May 2017, taking the formerly UKIP held seat of Hartsholme on the County Council, which he held until standing down in 2021.

Bill

Bill Mara

City Councillor for Witham Ward

Bill was first elected as Councillor for Witham Ward on 12 December 2019, following a byelection, before his re-election in May 2021.

Alan Briggs

Cllr Alan Briggs

City of Lincoln Councillor for Birchwood Ward

Alan was elected to the City of Lincoln Council in May 2018.
