Dear Member

We are now well into 2019 and recently had the local elections. Congratulations to our successful city council candidate Cllr Tom Dyer who retained his seat. This meant that our Group on the City Council remained the same at nine. Commiserations to our other candidates who put up a good fight and with different national issues to contend with may have increased our numbers.

We have to concentrate on two important issues: We must look forward to fighting the next local elections and support the government as we prepare to exit the European Union. We now have to pull our Party together to fight the common enemy, a Labour government sneaking in through the back door doesn’t bear  thinking about.

Congratulations to Karl McCartney on his re-adoption as our Parliamentary candidate by the Association. Work now begins to remove the incumbent MP and return Lincoln as a Conservative seat.

Our membership continues to grow apace but we still have work together to further strengthen the Association. I welcome our new members and hope that they will play an active part in the Association, both politically and socially.

The selection of candidates for the City Council elections will begin soon and we welcome members to consider putting there names forward for the 2020 elections. Please also get involved if you wish to take part in canvassing or leafleting.

My officers and I look forward to seeing you at some or all of our events over the next few months.

Finally, you can get in touch with us through the contact page on this website.
