Eddie Strengiel

Eddie StrengielEddie Strengiel has lived in the area for the last 22 years and runs his own business in Lincoln. He is married to Sandra and they have two daughters, Karen and Debbie.

Eddie has seen Birchwood Ward grow tremendously in that time and he feels that, as the area is the equivalent of a good sized town, we should have more facilities for its citizens. He is working closely with the Cooperative, Police and the developer regarding better facilities for the public in and around the new shopping centre. He is also supporting the County Council with their potential plans for a dual carriageway from the Whisby Junction to the Doddington Road roundabout.

He was proud to serve as a member of Her Majesty’s Forces, during a 25-year career in the Royal Engineers.

Whilst serving in the army as a communications instructor Eddie was heavily involved in sport and became a unit football coach and a Badminton Association of England coach.

Eddie was first elected as a City Councillor for Birchwood in 1991. He was also proud to serve the citizens of the City as Mayor of Lincoln, during 2004-05 and as Leader of the City of Lincoln Council during 2007-08.

His hobbies, when not involved with politics, include family days out, golf and recently he and Sandra have taken up hill walking.
