Paul has been a City Councillor for the Moorland Ward for two years and has been active on issues such as housing, security and championing the neighbourhood management for the Moorland Community Centre.

Paul is Chairman of the Policy Development Scrutiny Committee, Vice Chairman of the Scrutiny Liaison Committee and a member of the Licensing, Performance Scrutiny, Planning and Policy Review Scrutiny Committees.
