Marc Jones

Marc JonesMarc has been a City Councillor for Bracebridge Ward since May 2007.

Marc has had a busy few years since first getting elected, in July of 2007 he and his wife Rachel had a baby daughter, Tabitha and the following year he set up his own business in the City. Marc has concentrated his council time on both ward issues and city wide issues alike, successfully campaigning in the ward for a replacement bus shelter on Hykeham Road, improved play equipment for Newark Road play area and getting £6000 worth of funding for the St Columbus Community Centre and the 28th Scout Group both on Brant Road.

At the City wide level Marc has held various positions on the council since becoming elected, from Chairman of Performance Scrutiny, Executive Member for Planning Policy, Economic Regeneration and Parking Services as well as being the Conservative Whip until 2009 when he took over as Deputy Leader of the Council. He is currently the Deputy Leader of the Conservative group and Shadow Executive Member for Planning Policy, Economic Regeneration and Parking Services. Marc is passionate about creating opportunities for business to thrive in the City, driving down the cost of parking and tackling anti-social behavior in our communities.

Currently Marc is campaigning for a new pedestrian crossing to be installed on Brant Road close to the Brant Road Surgery and organising a Mayday Gala in the Ward. Marc would welcome the chance to speak to anyone who has questions about the work of a Councillor or wishes to offer any help in the Ward.
