Deputy Chairman Political – Graham Kent

At the 2011 Annual General Meeting, a motion from the floor was unanimously passed and Graham was elected as Deputy Chairman Political.

Graham joined the Association in 2009 and stood as the Candidate for Park Ward for the City of Lincoln Council election increasing the number of votes for a Conservative considerably. Since then, he has used his IT and organisation skills toward helping the Association prepare for the 2011 District election in the City and North Kesteven District Council.

Graham is hoping to stand for election again and is working hard to ensure that the Conservative majority in the City of Lincoln Council is restored and Council services continue to improve for all residents of the City.

Carly lives in uphill Lincoln with her fiancé, James, whom she is marrying this summer, and her two children.  She is 28 years old and was raised in Germany and Canada before settling in Lincoln to finish her education.  Carly went on to the University of Lincoln where she was co-president of the Politics Society, and graduated with a degree in International Relations.  She then forged a career in local government, but would say her greatest achievement is her two beautiful children, of whom she is very proud.  Freya was born in September 2005 and Reuben followed in September 2008.  It is her children which reinvigorated her interest in politics, as it became apparent to her that she could help shape Lincoln as an even brighter place for her children to grow up and thrive.
Carly was first involved in the Lincoln Conservative Association as social secretary, however at this year’s AGM she was unanimously elected as Deputy Chairman – Political.  This is a role that Carly takes very seriously, as she is passionate about promoting Conservative values and making local politics in general more accessible to the residents of Lincoln.  In fact, this theme of ‘getting people involved’ can be related to all aspects of what Carly stands for as she is also very keen on promoting community cohesion and giving people their say in their local community.  If elected, Carly will work her hardest to ensure that she delivers results for her voters in Glebe Ward.
Carly attends surgeries twice a month with the existing City Councillor, David Denman and County Councillor, Pauline Mathers.  These are held the second Saturday of the month at the Lincolnshire Poacher and the third Saturday of the month at St. Giles Community Centre, both at 11am.
Carly spends her spare time chasing after her children, reading about Russian culture / history and watching foreign films.  She loves to travel and experience different countries and cultures.
Carly would welcome the chance to introduce herself and speak with residents, and can be contacted via telephone or email:
