Cancellation of MP Surgery on 3rd December 2010
‘Due to adverse weather conditions for travelling (walking or driving) around Lincoln and the fact that City Hall was closed yesterday and maybe again tomorrow, all my advice surgery appointments booked in for tomorrow, 3rd December 2010, will be conducted remotely via telephone or using the internet and ‘Skype’, or alternatively I will be walking to the constituents’ home for a face to face meeting. If constituents would like to see me in the New Year, the next available appointment will be at the advice surgery on January 14th.
Monday Meet Update
A very enjoyable Monday Meet was held at The Homestead, Bracebridge Heath on Monday 15th November. We were pleased to have our best attendance to date and were delighted at the strong turn out from our Waddington Branch, on their home turf. Three County councillors joined us as well as District councillors, new members and even a Party officer. A very challenging, stimulating and erudite quiz set by Lizzie Rushton who couldn’t join us as she is on a dig in Belize.
The quiz was ably managed by our chairman, Peter Sunderland and ended in a triple tie – however we now all feel able to submit our application forms to Mastermind. The members took part in some lively conversation during an enjoyable evening that was still going strong at 10.30pm.
Forthcoming Events
I attach our Forthcoming Events listing, and I hope you all can come along to at least one of them.
Next year, 2011, is going to be very busy up to the District Council elections on May 5th, so I will be looking for your support again in helping to deliver leaflets, to canvass if that takes your fancy, and to support us financially as best you can. And, of course, at the Polls.
Not knowing when I will next be communicating with you may I, just in case, wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy and Successful New Year.
The Clairvoyance Social will be at Waddington Village Hall, 7.15 pm for 7.30 start. The Medium will be Ann Anderson from Retford. Please contact Mike Gallagher on 01522 722705 or gallaghermd@bus2131.fsnet.co.uk for any further information. For those without foresight, this event will be on Tuesday, 16th November 2010.
Best wishes,
Peter Sunderland Chairman, Lincoln Conservative Association

Just a brief note to let you know what you missed, and to give the date for the next one for your diaries. We met on the evening of 11th October at The Lincolnshire Poacher, Bunkers Hill in Glebe Ward, fittingly one of our top Target Wards, with current Councillor and husband joining us too.
The highlight of the evening was the three part quiz produced by Andrew, featuring a general section, a political section, and a picture section, (where did you find those flattering pictures of all those Councillors from Andrew?) Four prizes were on offer and were won by Gill, Lizzie, Peter and Oliver. (Good to have you back with us Oliver!) Commiserations to those who missed out, and a big thank you to Andrew for producing both the quiz and the prizes.
The next Monday Meet will be held on Monday 15th November, at The Homestead, Canwick Avenue, Bracebridge Heath, from 7.30 pm. We are again promised a quiz, so make a note in your diaries now. A reminder will be sent out nearer the date, and, if you are coming, a reply would help us in making arrangements.
If you have any queries then please telephone Andrew on 01522 684939 or Peter on 07749 927936

MONDAY MEETS – Update
The first one took place on Monday 13th September at the Swanholme, with numbers into double figures, including, and thank you very much, both City and County Councillors. We will move these monthly events round the Wards and thus hope Ward representatives will attend, or to at least send a friend or two, (we know you have them!). These are not fund raising events, just a relaxed evening out, enabling people to meet each other in pleasant surroundings with the opportunity of eating as well. Ideas of how we can do more, particularly helping each other and others, “Social Action”, is something we would like to work towards, and these events can be the catalyst for such. Giving those without transport lifts to meetings was one such idea raised.
The next Monday Meet will be in Glebe Ward, at the Lincolnshire Poacher, Wragby Road, on Monday 11th October from 7.30 pm, with a light hearted quiz with prizes promised. It will also be an opportunity to discuss what happened at the Party Conference that took place the previous week. Make a note of the date, and make an effort to be there.
If you need a lift get in touch with Andrew on 07765 966345 or Peter on 07749 927936
A warm invitation is extended to all Association members, supporters, friends, and their partners to join us at the first of our new Monday social meetings to be held on Monday 13th September at The Swan Holme on Doddington Road from 7.30pm onwards.
Why not come along for an evening of hopefully good conversation and exchange of views on all national and local political issues or just for a social chat. Take the opportunity to cross examine the Association Chairman and other officers on Association policies and views. Let us know what social events you would like or if you have any other ideas. It is also hoped a City Councillor will be present to update us on Council matters. Just pop along at any time during the evening for simply a drink or perhaps a meal as well – it will be very informal. New and recent members are particularly welcome – possibly a first opportunity to meet fellow supporters of the local Conservative Party.
It would also be useful if you could let us know whether you hope to attend so that we can bag a suitable size area in the pub for the gathering. Peter Sunderland, Chairman, and Andrew Bradley, one of your Deputy Chairmen
