Caroline Spelman Visit

Wednesday 7th April 2010 – Lincoln

Caroline Spelman the Shadow Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government today paid a visit to Lincoln to meet with Karl McCartney, the Conservative Candidate at the forthcoming General Election.

Caroline met with Karl’s supporters on Lee Road this afternoon to encourage them as they canvassed and met with local residents. After an on-site interview with LincsFM, Caroline was good enough to allow us to grab a quick photo for posterity as the first senior Shadow Cabinet Minister to show her support for Karl.

Caroline’s visit concluded with an interview at Radio Lincolnshire before she travelled onwards to Retford to offer them assistance.

General Election 2010

Well, it has finally happened – the General Election has been called and we are now in full election mode with a final date in sight!

It has been an exciting first day with a High Street walkabout (thanks to Carly and family, Geoff, Giles, Kelly and Rob), Karl doing three interviews (on TV – Look North, Radio Lincolnshire and for an internet podcast), our thousands of Fighting Fund letters being delivered to the Post Office, the large corex posters being distributed ready for erection, a bit of data inputting and lastly, but by no means least, the First 72 hours leaflet has been collected by everyone and I am sure are being delivered as I type this email!

Many thanks to everyone who helped today and collected or delivered their leaflets – we were also able to get out some of our ‘Families’ magazines to areas not allocated an initial leaflet.

Other points of note:
