Dear Colleagues,

I am delighted to present you with a summary of the submissions received to our July discussion brief on ‘Natural Resources’. It has been sent to Richard Benyon MP, the Parliamentary Under-Secretary for Natural Environment and Fisheries, and I look forward to his response to all of our recommendations.

This was our most popular paper to date, and the submissions we received focused on both your experiences of your own local environments, and the importance of natural resources for our nation and the world. This was an issue which our members clearly felt very strongly about and we have endeavoured to reflect this strength of feeling in the summary.

Please also tell your members about the CPF 2012 Winter Conference, details of which can be found on our website: http://www.conservativepolicyforum.com/news/cpf-winter-conference. This will be fantastic opportunity for members from across Britain to come together and discuss some of the most important issues facing our country over the next five years and beyond, as well as having the chance to hear some amazing speakers. I have also attached a booking form.

Finally, a reminder that the deadline for our paper on ‘Poverty’ is 30 November.
